Ik heb een vreemde fascinatie voor strepen. Het begon toen ik werkte als souschef in een kleine Parijse bistro. Ik presenteerde de pasta altijd in rechte lijnen middels het gebruik van een liniaal. Mijn chef, Jean Jacques de Loraine, vroeg me om daarmee te stoppen en ik probeerde het echt, maar het lukte niet. Iets in mij kon de imperfecte chaos van rommelige pasta niet accepteren. Ik raakte slaags met chef de Loraine. Hij was veel groter dan ik, dus hij won. Toen ik vertrok, noemde ik zijn moeder een trut. HA!!!! Sindsdien heb ik nooit meer als souschef gewerkt.
